Baytex Giving Back

Baytex believes in supporting the communities in which our employees live and work. We are proud of our policy to match funds raised by employees for their charities of choice and we have contributed to a number of company-selected organizations throughout the years. Baytex holds a number of fundraising events in our offices throughout the year to ensure we keep the spirit of giving in mind. The following is a sampling of some of the company efforts of Baytex over the years:
Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation
From 2006 – 2010, Baytex committed to yearly installments to be put towards greatest priority needs at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Baytex also supports employees in creating a Corporate Phone Bank Team for the Caring for Kids Radiothon in support of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. In addition, Baytex has been an official sponsor of the Annual Candy Cane Gala for the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and a Cart Sponsor for the Children's Hospital Aid Society Annual Charity Golf Classic. These donations of both funds and time have helped to make the Alberta Children's Hospital the world-class facility that it is and take care of those that are the future of Alberta.
Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta
Baytex is the Photography Sponsor for the Cassie Campbell Street Hockey Festival, in support of the Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta, which provides a home away from home and support for sick children and their families in a compassionate and comfortable, home-like atmosphere.
Tom Baker Cancer Centre
As a Heritage Sponsor for the Tom Baker Cancer Centre Golf Classic, Baytex takes part in helping cancer patients in Southern Alberta continue to receive the best and latest cancer treatment based on leading-edge scientific research.
In addition to these sponsorships, we invest in many more local groups, all of which are equally important. For further information on sponsorship, please read our Community Policy.

Baytex Energy Centre - Peace River, Alberta

Baytex and the Town of Peace River have entered into a sponsorship agreement for the community arena. This is a five-year commitment commencing in 2012 and continuing to 2016, during which time Baytex Energy will invest $225,000 into the infrastructure of the arena, which will be re-named the Baytex Energy Centre.

Hiring Local Talent

Baytex employs residents of the communities in which we do business and has approximately 190 field employees hired from these communities. Baytex also makes financial commitments in these communities and supports the volunteer efforts of employees in these areas.
